Peter Horne who accompanied the Dean of the Faculty of the farm Unram, Prof. Joseph Ahyar Sutaryono, says the fund research about Rp20 billion, utilized to finance the needs of researchers from Australia by Rp15 billion and $ 1 billion of direct expenditure.

Funds that are allocated direct expenditures to help do research that aims to increase the population of cattle on the island of Bali and Lombok. Research that involves 1500 breeders.

The results of research that's been implemented is one indukan can produce a calf's tail (pedet) within a period of twelve months, faster than before the entry into the program, i.e. ACIAR Lombok one carrier generates two tail pedet for three years.

"It was the result of the research we did since 2000. Indeed we have no cow population data generated from ACIAR program in detail, however, the real form of the results of our research is the one capable of giving birth to one calf stem tail pedet within 12 months, "he said.

Dean of the Faculty of the farm Unram, Prof. Joseph Ahyar Sutaryono, ACIAR Project research done in collaboration with the Faculty of the University Farm of Mataram and Agricultural Technology Studies Hall (BPTP) NTB for beef research located in Bali, Lombok Tengah District and the District of North Lombok Regency Kayangan.

Such research involving 1,500 farmers in 48 group of breeders.

The population of cattle in groups of farmers has developed since the research project conducted in the year 2000 is around 5,000 to 6,000 tail.

"ACIAR Research Program aims to help boost the incomes of farmers through two ways, i.e. increases the productivity of crops, livestock and fishery as well as to strengthen the integrated agribusiness development focused on commodities worth economical high and has a strong market," he said.

He expects the results of research financed ACIAR can be adopted by the Government of the province of WEST NUSA TENGGARA (NTB) to realize the program of Earth million cows (BSS) in 2013.
