A study in Japan found that a Labrador Retriever could detect the presence of bowel cancer by up to 90 percent accuracy.

The dog that could even know the existence of bowel cancer at 33 of 36 volunteers who follow the trials that, just by sniffing breath smell it volunteers.

By sniffing the sufferer, dirt detection dogs that become the level of 98 percent or could know 37 of 38 patients involved in the experiment.

Researchers from the University of Kyushu, Japan are conducting research that believe dogs can detect certain chemical substances, called ' volatile organic compounds ' (VOC), produced by cancer cells.

Researchers do not recommend to train dogs to detect cancer because of the time consuming and cost prohibitive.

"It will be very important to identify the specific VOC substances which could have been identified by the dog and to develop cancer detection sensor that can replace the role of the dog," wrote the researchers in the journal ' Gut ', as cited Telegraph.
